AUD-only Customers

AUD-only Customers documentation for Compose Finance APIs and integrations.

Organizations with AUD functionality enabled can create AUD-only customers: individuals who pay in Australian dollars to their own Australian bank details, and who can be paid out to Australian bank accounts (AUD withdrawals). Each AUD payment they make converts to USDC on Base and is sent to your organization's embedded wallet.

  1. Create the customer with "product": "aud_only" and "accountType": "individual", and their email (required; 400 without it).
  2. Call POST /customers/{customerId}/kyc and send the customer the kycFlowLink. AUD-only customers verify on the customers-id-liveness-ca level, except those who get a new link on every call: call the endpoint again whenever you send them one. They send the same customer.kyc.* webhooks as other customers, with customer.kyc.submitted when their first KYC link is generated, and again when they continue after being asked for more information. AUD withdrawals do not need KYC.
  3. After approval, poll GET /customers/{customerId}/deposit?currency=aud until it stops returning 409. The response gives the BSB and account number (paymentRail: "AU_BANK_TRANSFER").
  4. Read payments with GET /customers/{customerId}/transactions. Each AUD payment is a DEPOSIT with paymentRail: "AU_BANK_TRANSFER" and the payer's name in payerName. AUD payments send deposit.created and deposit.status_changed webhooks like other deposits.

One set of details accepts NPP/Osko and BECS transfers. The scheme is not reported per transaction. When AUD functionality is enabled for your organization, AUD-only customers can add AUD withdrawal banks (paymentRail: "AU_BANK_TRANSFER"), be paid out to them with POST /customers/{customerId}/withdrawal, and get USDC or USDT to AUD quotes from GET /rates, verified or not. AUD-only customers cannot use EUR/USD deposit details, virtual accounts, deposit wallets, EUR/USD withdrawal banks or withdrawals, developer fees, quotes to other currencies or manual KYC upload; those endpoints return 400 with Not available for AUD-only customers. Listing their virtual accounts or deposit wallets instead returns an empty list and looking one up returns 404; their withdrawal banks list holds their AUD withdrawal banks once AUD functionality is enabled for your organization, and is empty otherwise.
